My first picture book as illustrator and author – HOORAY! This book’s character and inspiration comes from the talented blogger Jill Nystul of “One Good Thing by Jillee” and her creative nephew Scott Warner (Gigg.com) who approached me with the idea. We wanted to make a beautiful, fun children’s book that celebrates the joy that comes from service and doing ONE GOOD THINGs every day. In the story, Jillee Bean’s father wants to cheer her up when she feels she doesn’t measure up to her friends and their achievements. Dad gives Jillee an empty jar an a challenge, “For every ONE GOOD THING you do, I will give you one jelly bean!” Jillee Bean takes the challenge! But where does she start? Can she really fill up that giant jar with good deeds? You’ll have to read it to find out! -S.
